Oklahoma State on Saturday grinded out an ugly come-from-behind win over No. 25 Texas on the road to improve to 6-0 on the season for the first time since 2015. The win already has social media on fire, because of course, but the numbers behind the win tell an even more impressive story about the 2021 iteration of the Cowboys and their season to date.
So let’s get to that now with a look at 10 stats — including some odds and ends — to know following OSU’s 32-24 win over the Longhorns.
1. The win marks the first time in program history it has defeated ranked opponents in three consecutive outings.
2. OSU outscored Texas 16-0 in the fourth quarter and finished on a 19-0 run to end the game. Texas has now been outscored 41-7 in the fourth quarter the last two weeks (including last week’s loss to OU).
3. OSU recorded 170 yards of offense in the fourth quarter. Texas recorded one (!) yard of offense in the fourth quarter.
4. OSU is 30-10 in the last 41 games it has played that were decided by 10 points or fewer.

6. OSU has won six of its last seven matchups against Texas in Austin and is 8-4 against the Longhorns in the last 12 matchups.

9. Jason Taylor’s pick-six in the second quarter was OSU’s sixth non-offensive touchdown since the start of the 2020 season. Taylor has accounted for half of those scores. Touchdown machine.
